Welcome to the Crafts Department blog. We thought a blog would be a great way to share even more about the crafts we create for Martha Stewart Living as well as what we craft on our own. We hope to provide you with a peek behind the scenes to some of our stories, our inspiration, our favorite sources, as well as some of the projects we are personally working on. Periodically crafters from our television show and from the Martha Stewart Crafts line will also post entries to let us know what is happening in their areas as well. We hope you enjoy it.
As we begin this blog we are in the midst of a big move. After more than 15 years our craft room is re-locating to the Starrett Lehigh building on 26th street in New York. We took the opportunity to give a really thorough cleaning to our supplies and thought we would give you a peek at the daunting process.

We're looking for the Martha's Homecoming Poncho pattern for our Ladies'Aid Knitting and Crocheting group. This is a new Mission program that makes prayer shawls and lap quilts for shut-ins.

During the first season (when that show aired), already-made ponchos were sold on the Martha site. But for those who wanted to make it, all they had to do was download the free pattern from Lionbrand.
In a google search, it the first one listed.

I want to make some chalk boards. Martha said, to regular vinyl paint, add ____. I think it was 1 cup of non-sanded grout but not sure. Let me know if you know the answer.

Do you have any information or pattern for the pillowcase dresses that you had in a spring Baby magazine. I have heard it was a great article and adorable dress. I am especially interested in the measurements for toddler sizes. Thanks for your help. Debra

This past week my grandchildren and I made beautiful Christmas ornaments out of burned out light bulbs and different bottle caps that were all painted gold or silver. We decoupaged fabric designs that were cut out. Different trims were added to complete the look. I would love to share the pictures that I took.

We used Universal Mold Release by Smooth-On. It's available from Sculpt.com. Details are in the guide on pg. 164.
