Work by Aimee Ray

I stopped by the opening for 'Forget Me Not: embroidered love from the new craft movement.' All of the work is hand stitched and deals with love, but styles, techniques and materials really range. I love the play between traditional handicrafts and contemporary interpretations. Much of the work is pretty witty if you look closely. The show just closed, but you can still see or purchase the work online through Gallery Hanahou's site, or check out some of my photos above.

  • Check out Jenny Hart's embroidery work too. She was one of the first to use embroidery as a medium in contemporary work. She is amazingly talented.
