Make It : early spring flowers

If you're like me, this is the time of year for daydreaming of spring and those first bits of color and warm weather. Above are some crafts projects from a story I worked on a few years back that was inspired by the flowers and colors of early spring. We made paper snowdrops, (shown above decorating a chocolate cake dusted with 'snow') and crocuses, which didn't run in the story so I thought I'd share them!

These are so simple to make, and look pretty just as they are in a small vase or bottle. I also like to stick them in bits of dried moss for a very lifelike little spring vignette! See gallery below for a few more projects... and you can look at the rest of this story here.

the birds are made by starting with styrofoam forms... I loved making the gradations in color by tearing and glueing colored paper...
