Today is the 40th Anniversary of Earth day! Here in the Crafts Dept, we love bringing new life to old scraps and forgotten objects. Here are two of my favorite recycled projects.
Make these two bags using old t-shirts or pillowcases. Bring your new/recycled bag with you while you run errands and avoid wasting disposable plastic bags. You can't get much greener than that.
This bag is easy to make using an orphaned pillowcase. Click here for complete instructions.
If you don't have a spare pillowcase, grab an old t-shirt and make this bag.

I can remember making these T-shirt bags in Girl Scouts in the early 70's.... such fun.

I love these ideas. And I like that they can be stuffed in your purse and carried around until you need them. I always forget the plastic ones in the car.
