Have you seen this month's Living yet? Here's a sneak peek into the photo shoot from May Good Things (a lot of hard work goes into these shoots, but we still manage to have fun
1 Stephen is an art director, but he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. Here he creates an artificial breeze on our Cinco De Mayo party fringe.
2
3 Our food editor Charlotte styles the chips
4 Those spiced fruit cups were amazing!! The instructions can be found in the magazine, but I think it's just a bit of chili powder and lime.
5 I trimmed the fringe in between shots- I love how it's created a festive confetti on the ground
6 Our first go at the dyed doilies- we often like to take several variations.
7
8 Dyeing these doilies was so fun. I just started out with a bit of food coloring in the bath, then gradually added the rest of the bottle. This made for a nice range from subtle to saturated.
9
10 Liz worked her styling magic on our set.

17 Our Art Director Alex works with Liz on the set. Those macarons were pretty delicious! There's always a lot of snacking that goes on during shoots.

Okay, my finger aches from scrolling up and down (and up and down!) in my reader just taking in all of this fabulosity! I think my heart broke just a lil bit with the dyed doilies... SO lovely! And the color palette is swoon-worthy to say the least. What a lovely way to start a Friday! Thanks for sharing!

I know it's work, but it looks like a lot of fun too! And the doily colors are gorgeous! It's great to see what goes on behind the scenes to produce the lovely pages of the magazine.

Anyone in the Art Dept. interested in a great idea for a project that uses fabric, embroidery hoops, color and much more. It is easy to make and can be used by every age group.
