Some shows develop then change - develop some more and change and change again. It's the nature of live TV! Our Google Cook-off show turned out to be one of those shows. Hosanna and the crafters were swamped so Kait, Kelli and I offered to put on our crafting hats and pitch in to create the Google Cook-off award ribbons and winner "trophy". Totally adorable if I do say so myself!
1 Hosanna walks us through the process and demos how to do a running stitch on beautiful Masterstroke satin ribbon
2 Look at that adorable ball jar pincushion! (Hosanna made it of coarse!)
3 Working in Illustrator, I designed the ribbon center graphic using the adorable frying pan icon Kir created for Amy Sederis’ apron badges
4 Our supplies await!
5 Sewing circle! Kelli, Anduin and Kait stitch away while we film our morning show. As you can see, Ludacris was a guest that day. Very fun!
6 Since these were being given as cooking award ribbons, we used individual tart tin pans with removable bases.
7 Once the sewing was done, we began assembly, first attaching the tails to a round cardboard disc.
8 Next we hot glued the stitched ribbon to the base
9 We used ribbon colors inspired by the Martha TV logo
10 After double sticking the graphic to the tin round we hot glued the base and the round to the cardboard disc
11 The finishing touch was adding the Martha TV logo to each ribbon
12 These ribbons are ready to award the Google winners!
13 The 1st Place winner trophy was a Martha Stewart Macy’s colander and a kitchen crock. A prefect fit! We filled the trophy “cup” with a few of Martha’s kitchen “must have’s”.
