Behind the Scenes : The Craft Show!

Posted by

Craft Show 001

To help kick off National Craft Month, we are excited to present a whole hour (!) of crafts on The Martha Stewart Show, which will be airing tomorrow at 10 a.m. on Hallmark Channel.

While getting ready for The Craft Show, there have been a number of other theme shows (baby, party, citrus) that we have been working on as well, which means things have been rather busy in the TV Craft Room. So today I am sharing photos from the work room that I have been taking while we've been getting various things created. Hope you enjoy the peak into the workspace, and we hope that everyone can tune in tomorrow to watch The Craft Show. Also, check back with the craft blog tomorrow to find out about some fun giveaways!

  • this post seriously made my morning! thanks for the sneak peek at all of these awesome projects. i can't decide between the sign you made for the show or the darling citrus stools as my favorite!

  • Those giant pom poms never fail to put a smile on my face. :-) I can't wait for the show!!!

  • I WISH I had that kind of space for my projects! I also have to note that the adorable pom pons would not last 10 seconds in a household with my cat in it. Although, if you're searching for that "shredded" look he's for hire.

  • I love getting a look behind the scenes.... image 5 lol!

  • Set the DVR, got a notepad and my thinking cap on - can't wait Heather Ross fabric, birds (I have a virtual cottage industry spray painting my finds white), milk paint + Petit Collage - this is going to be epic! Thanks!!

  • [...] I’m a fashion and craft lover, so around here it’s National Craft Month. Martha Stewart is celebrating it, of course. Is anyone [...]

  • Just bought your new crafting and new sewing books. I love all the wonderful projects. I am looking at sewing machines and was wondering what one you use on your show. Thank-You for bring such wonderful ideas to our homes.

  • What a fantastic-looking show! I'm sure that it is a lot of hard work to prep for something like this, but it also looks like such a fun job.

(Have you seen "Put a bird on it" from "Portlandia"? So funny:

  • I don't get the Hallmark Channel. Is the show syndicated on different channels in different markets, or is it exclusively on that channel?

    and Creative uses.

  • Crafter Comment:

Sharon - we use a variety machines on the show, but for a new sewer I recommend Singer machines. Look into the Confidence line, it's a solid machine and if it's maintained correctly it will last a very long time. Happy sewing!

  • I really want to try making the spring wreaths; I do Easter for my whole family.

  • I love everything but I loved the necklace on today's show, truly amazing

  • I really love todays craft using the freeser paper and your amazing craft punches for stenciling.
I thought it would be great to use on baby furniture. How delicate and sweet. Why stop there. Use on curtains, bedding and walls too :)

  • So glad to see the show! DVR'ing so that I don't miss a thing.

  • I love your show. The one today all about crafts was really excellent. Thank you all very much for all your hard work! Ann

  • I so loved the show. Just a quick question, Hannah said where she got the mushrooms for her spring grapevine wreath but I didn't write it down so can you please let me know where online she got them? Thanks so much.

  • I was so happy to catch the craft show at my mom's today- I don't get Hallmark Channel at my house. Thanks for showing how to correctly use all your tools. It is super helpful.

  • I am a lifelong crafter but currently working on a family heirloom scrapbook. This book is dedicated to the generation of our grandmother, grandfather 6 children. The span is from 1875 to 2006. I have used many M S supplies to create this labor of love, papers, stickers, cutters, punches. Three of the siblings have passed away, including my mother. Creating this with lots of black and white photos has been so much fun.

  • The citrus show was fabulous and perfect for getting me out of the winter blues. I have tried the candied citrus peels and they were delicious!

  • I really loved this show!! The crafting furniture looks amazing!! It has given me inspiration to organize my crafting! The favorite tools look really great! I want to start making jewelry! I need to make some pillows! Also some cards for Easter!! LOL Loved loved loved this show!!

  • Thank you for this behind-the-scenes peek! I work full-time and can't usually catch Martha's shows as they air, but I'll definitely be catching up with the streaming clips online!
