The thermostat is forecasted to hit 95 degrees in New York today, which can only mean one thing—summer!

As a kid this was always my favorite time of year: School let out, it became acceptable to eat ice cream every day (strictly for cooling-off purposes), and there was always some new pond or park to explore.

Summer makes me think of road trips, beaches, and swimming—like these stickers for our giveaway:

  • It is so hot and rainy here in the summer, and talk about the misquitos. I love to stay in my craftroom and create cards for Operation Write Home.

  • Spending the day on the Rappahannock River with my family, then heading over to Carl's Ice Cream to get something cool and sweet! There's always a line, but it's well worth the wait!

  • My favorite thing to do in the summer is to spend the day at Lake Michigan with my kids. We pack a picnic lunch to eat at the beach(yes,sand sometimes gets in the food). We play in the waves, throw a Frisbee and spend these fleeting moments of childhood together.

  • I love swim lessons with my son. This will probably be our last summer in "mommy and me." I guess I will just have to have another baby!

We then take a visit to Cape May. We both love antiques and every year we find something to add to our collection. After that we go to the Poconos, visit the local farms, eat and relax in the mountains. Thereafter, we go to the local flea markets and yard sales and find more antiques and goodies. It's a tradition that we both look forward to every year!!

  • when summer has come its the perfict time for me to go out for a little walk on the beach to also collect seashells and see that butiful sunset.

  • My favorite thing to do in the summer is to head out on a road trip, or just a day trip, early in the morning. Once we hit the highway it brings back that feeling of excitement and anticipation we had as children heading up to a camp we rented for two weeks in Maine or New Hampshire. I remember one with a pump in the kitchen and a two-seater outhouse, old metal camp beds and that old wood smell. Heaven.

  • My favorite thing to do when I was younger was to kayak in the streets. In the summer, when it would rain really hard, the streets would flood, and all of my friends and I would break out the kayaks and canoes and take to the streets!

You pick up your book filled with clues and fun facts and you find a plexi glass engraved plaque hidden on hiking trails or in local playgrounds and parks. It promotes reading, physical activity and engages the ehole family with other friends and family. It's also a great way to get to know your own backyard...

    My kids are grown and gone, So I frequently host the neighborhood kids to do craft projects with me. I had them decorate cigar boxes for fathers day and we baked platters of goodies for their Moms for Mothers day. This is how I prefer to spend my lazy summer days!

  • As I head into each June, I fantasize about the lazy days of summer. My summer feels complete if: the kids have run around in the backyard in their bathing suits while playing in the sprinklers; we have made our own fruit juice pops in the freezer; and last, but not least, if we have woken up after 9 am for the majority of July!
