We love a themed party here in the Crafts Department! We try to personalize each birthday party—sometimes according to season, favorite treats, colors, etc. For Athena's birthday last month, we based the theme around one of Athena's favorite colors: bright pink. We all know she loves cats, so we had some special kitty appearances on the table as well.
1 Athena loves bright pink, and cats, so we had a pink party with a few special guests.
2 A kitty printed on card stock, with a small flap folded at the bottom, will sit nicely in your crackers.
3 This cat has a toothpick taped to the back and is perched atop our watermelon.
4 The polka-dot napkins are accented by the punched confetti.
5 Everyone brought delicious pink treats.

7 Alessandra and Lindsay made a very cute card for Athena.
8 Athena's favorite juice is hot pink—that was the true inspiration for the party theme.
9 Beautiful pink peonies.

How did you know, lol? My name is Athena, I love pink and adore kitties, but my birthday isn't for a few months!
Loved this of course!

When my sons graduated from high school and then college I had a different theme for each of them. This article reminded me of the green/white theme I had when one of the boys graduated from a prep school with green and white as the school colors. The centerpiece was ivy with rocks. He had just completed a semester of mountain classroom and so I used volcanic rock, ocean stones and granite, seeing we're from the Granite state!
