Remember when I said I couldn't wait to make a baby doll for my cousin!? Well, Ronja was just born, and I'm so happy for her sweet parents (and now I have a reason to make anotherĀ doll). I made a baby doll with a bunting body rather than with legs. It is pretty much the same instructions as the other ones (except a bit faster to make), but I still photographed the steps for you below and you can get the template for the body here. If you get stuck, you should reference back to the original. Choose a fabric that is washable (babies love to suck on the little hands of these dolls) and cotton yarn for hair. Then enjoy your new family member! Congratulations, Hannah, Otto, and Ronja!!!!
4 cut 2 2" squares and a 3 1/2" x 7 " long strip (ribbing going up and down the long side) of cotton jersey
7 place a 2" diameter ball of wool batting onto 3 strips 2" x 7" wide. place small balls of batting inside squares and tie off for hands
8 fold strips over ball and stuff inside head. form top of head to be firm and smooth, adding more bating if needed. tie off at 'neck' and sew shut at bottom
9 stuff head / neck pieces inside neck opening of body, gather fabric with one row of running stitch and blind stitch on tightly
10 add more stuffing through arm openings, distribute evenly, stuff hands inside opening and blind stitch onto body the same way you did head

Very cute and yeah like you said it's easy to make. I will try making one of that. By the way, the red cloth you chose to dress up the doll for just makes it even cuter.

In your October 2011 magazine it mentioned on page 161 that I could find the patterns for the gingham cloth characters. Perhaps I am looking at the incorrect page. I am unable to find them to copy .
