[We mean our TV set drawers!]
Our rule since the beginning has been that everything on the set WORKS. Nothing is simply a prop. You've seen the beautifully styled craft room, and probably noticed the gorgeous ribbon, fabric, and tools that our talented stylist Chip Glynn sets out to coordinate with every season. But did you know that every drawer and cabinet is functional? Kristin St. Clair and I spent a day last week stocking the craft room with the supplies we most often need when we're on set with Martha. We have two of everything: one for Martha, and one for a possible guest. Here's a peek at the inside of our well-organized, indispensable craft room storage.
2 A photo of a messy, pre-production craft room on a dark set, being readied for our first live show on September 26!
3 Each drawer and cabinet contains valuable supplies for quick set-ups. Don't you wish you had this much craft storage space??
4 A stationery drawer for quick notes to ourselves, to Martha, to coworkers, and crew (i.e. "don't touch—hot!!").
Before each new season, every tool is checked, replaced if damaged or too dirty for camera, and sharpened if necessary. Could your craft area use a refresh? We always find organizing clears our heads and makes room for unlimited creativity!

Martha Stewart Crafters,
Beautiful tools and organized spaces for Martha Stewart Crafters, to work in. I like to add a small spice jar of Alum and a box of band aids, in my sewing and crafting area, just in case I cut myself. A little on a small cut will stop the bleeding.

I absolutely loved the hour of crafting. It keeps me inspired and also advises me of the tools I need to have. I don't have too many tools (you can't actually have too many!), so I appreciate the advice on which are worthy to spend my money on. Thank you for the wonderful job!

Martha Stewart Crafts Department,
What a beautiful space to work in. Beautifully organized and wonderful tools. I'm totally envious of such a great space.
I like to add a box of band aids and a small spice jar of Alum to my sewing and craft area. Alum will stop the bleeding of a small cut quickly. I added it after the first rotary cutters were developed. First thing I did is leave it laying open and move the back of my hand into it. Since I do a lot of canning I had Alum on hand. Then I decided to buy an extra one for my sewing kit to take to sewing and quilting classes.

The craft hour show was really enjoyable to watch since I always seem to need a little guidance to jumpstart me. For instance, I have a few extra baskets and thought they would make a good foundation to give as gifts. However, I needed to see the idea of the custom craft kit with project ingredients and instructions stuffed inside. It looked so pretty dressed up with the ribbbon. Why couldn't I think of that? Thanks!

I enjoyed the show today. I am looking forward to experimenting with wire craft ribbon. My mother taught me the same about scissors, got in trouble if I used her fabric scissors on paper. I like seeing all the tools you use. Things are so much easier if you have the right tool for the job.
