Get The TechniqueMy boyfriend and I recently welcomed Addy, an 8-week-old golden doodle puppy into our lives. With Halloween just a week away, I had to make her a costume! I love Steph’s clever Dino Tank from her pet costumes story in this month’s issue of Living, so I made one for Addy in pink and red.

2 I printed Steph's spine template and used felt I had at home. The tank top was from the baby section at American Apparel!
3 The felt ready to be inserted into the tank.
4 A few snips with scissors based on another template from the story, and the tank is finished!

We’ve also been saying how much she looks like a little lion, so I thought I’d transform one of her small collars into a furry mane. Both were easy to make and comfortable for Addy to wear.

2 I simply embellished one of her collars by tying yarn all the way around.
3 This way, we could reuse her collar after Halloween.
