Celebrate : Ladybug Love

Posted by

Today's sweet post is from an all around amazing talent and dear friend of mine, Dani Fiori from Sweet Dani B. Her ideas for all types of celebratory moments are thoughtful, playful and always executed with style. Today she shares one she recently did for her parents....

Years ago, my Mom told me that her Mom told her that ladybugs are lucky and magical. In significant moments in her life they have appeared and in seeing them she feels comfort and happiness. As it goes with generations, the ladybug love (I call them love bugs) has been passed on and the spotting of any ladybug always brings a smile to my face.

My parents celebrated their Ruby Anniversary last year. They insisted on "no party" and "no gifts" but of course we had to do something! We planned a dinner at their favorite restaurant and sent them an invitation. The invite featured two of my favorite Martha Stewart Crafts pom pom lady bug stickers peeking out...

For obvious reasons I fell in love with these fuzzy 3D stickers the first time I saw them. Every time I go to the craft store I go directly to the Martha Craft sticker aisle and buy a few packs. There's something funny and serious about them and I adore them for their true pom pom craftiness.

I continued the ladybug theme at our table at the restaurant... After covering our table with red rose petals and a mix of red votives, I stuck the ladybugs into the scene.

My signature love bug cookies made very sweet place cards...

Ladybugs were everywhere. They crawled up our glasses, over red tea lights and before I knew it, the leaf lady bug sticker became a brooch!

This simple decor hailed much acclaim from other restaurant patrons as well as the guests of honor. Ladybugs! There they were again, showing up at another significant life moment making us all smile.

I hope this easy and adorable ladybug party decor idea inspires you to embrace the lady bug love!  Xo Dani
