Tools & Materials : Our Favorite MSC Tools

Posted by

We're excited to talk about tools today! We've also got a big announcement: all Martha Stewart craft tools are buy 1, get 1 half off in Michael's stores this week!

To help you draft your shopping list, we thought we would share with you our favorite tools here in the Crafts Department.

Marcie's favorite tool is the cutting mat: "The ruled grid on the mat makes it easy to measure and cut with precision. It also protects your surface and your cutting blades last longer."

Blake's favorite tool is the screw punch: "I love the screw punch due to it's ability to punch all over the page and because it's strong enough to get through materials such as felt. I also like that you can change the tips to create different size holes."

Jim's favorite tool is the scoring board: "I love the scoreboard because it's so versatile and easy to use. With just this one tool you can make cards, envelopes, boxes, medallions and much, much more. It's a must-have for anyone interested in DIY, unique gift packaging and decor!"

Kirsten's favorite tool is the craft knife: "It's the only craft knife I've used that doesn't hurt my hand after using it for a long stretch! I also like that the blade is easy to remove and replace but doesn't slip under pressure."

Silke's favorite tool is the detail scissors: "I use these precise scissors for anything from paper crafts to sewing and snipping yarn when knitting. They're perfectly pointy, sharp and precise."

Hosanna's favorite tool is the utility bone folder: "In the past I have not really liked all-in-one tools, but ours is made well and feels good in the hand. And I like having everything available so I don't have to track down various tools."

Jodi's favorite tool is the paper trimmer: "I can't live without it for invites and cards and little paper cutting jobs...!"

What are some of your favorite tools? We'd love to hear. Happy shopping!

  • I also can't live without the cutting mat
    thanks Dale

  • I also absolutely love the Martha Stewart craft knife. I use it every day for cutting the intricate designs I put on my surfboard baby mobiles. How quickly I replaced my old x-acto knife with this easy-to-grip version! But I wish it were around back when I was in Architecture school - wish ALL these tools were available back then!

  • I recently purchssed your heat gun and would like to know if there is a stand available for this

  • Crafter Comment:

    Hi Toni,
There should be a wire kickstand built into your heat gun. See this photo for reference.
