Years ago, on a trip to San Francisco, I stumbled upon General Bead, a treasure trove of beads, bits, and baubles. I recently went back- it was just as great as I remembered.
In addition to a very thorough assortment of new beads, General Bead has a great vintage selection, including these sample cards that were excavated from a stock room-
The upstairs part of the store has such an assortment- it really requires some rummaging, but that makes the finds all the more rewarding. There's a little side room that's filled with vintage sequins- so cool! I bought a small selection to make greeting cards with.
