Around Town : The Tangled Web in Philadelphia

Posted by

This week we'll be bringing you some of our favorite craft and supply shops! I am from Philadelphia, so I felt the need to wave my hometown flag and present to you a sweet knitting shop called The Tangled Web.

The Tangled Web is located in the suburb of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia and is made up of a wonderful community of men and women who are passionate about knitting, crochet and needlepoint. What I love about this shop is that most of the staff are volunteers who donate their time to helping others learn how to knit and crochet. They have been around for years but just opened a newly renovated shop last year with a really wonderful collection of yarn, notions and an extensive library. They built an addition on the second floor that houses cozy couches and chairs - the perfect place to spend hours on a Saturday or Sunday if you're an avid knitter.

If you're ever in Philadelphia, be sure to stop by the Tangled Web! If you live in the area, check out their list of events and classes.

  • We have a wonderful art supply store here in Mill Valley, California named "Once Around". It's terrific because it is beautifully merchandised and because it has all the things you need for crafts' for a modern generation. I love the big chain craft stores but they don't always have everything I need for the latest techniques, once around seems to be aware of craft trends. Best, Brooke

  • It's so great to see a Philadelphia store featured here! I live in Philly, and have never been to this place. Thanks for the tip!
