I recently saw this gallery from our friends over at Whole Living and thought it was very appropriate for the day after Christmas! If your family is anything like mine, we are left with bags and bags of wrapping paper. Some of it has been mangled by little cousins itching to rip open their gifts as quickly as possible, and some of it has been carefully preserved by the likes of my mother and grandmother who can't seem to bear ruining some of the prettier paper.
That said, see below for the many uses for used wrapping paper! You'd be surprised what you can do with it.
Instead of spending money on shred to wrap or protect fragile items, make your own by cutting into wrapping paper (our fringing scissors would work here, as would a real paper shredder or cutter!).
I also like the idea of covering your pencil/pen holders with bits of wrapping paper. It's an easy (and cheap!) way to update your desktop.
If you're hosting a New Years Eve party this year, Blake's crackers from the December issue of Living (especially this one pictured above) are the perfect way to help put scraps of paper and odd bits of ribbon to use. Click here for the full how-to.
