We've long coveted the unique and somewhat hidden shop Metalliferous - located on 46th street between fifth and sixth avenues in Manhattan.
I love that you have to walk into a bit of a dingy looking building, climb a few flights of stairs (all the while convinced you're lost) before you finally arrive at the shop. They carry an array of metal findings, tubes, chains and tools.
They just opened a Vintage section across the hall - it's packed with amazing little metal treasures. It was fun looking through drawers of brass arrows, birds and bugs (in five different sizes, mind you). I could have spent hours there!
Next time you are in New York or on a shopping trip in need of supplies, make it to Metalliferous!

Oh wow...I am so envious. I could get lost in here for hours. SO many fun things to look at and the prices look reasonable.

I was so happy to see that they opened this section... I was bummed when they downsized from their space one floor down, where I could spend hours lost in the aisles of bins in the back of the store; this brings it back to me a bit.

Oh, next to a Brazilian restaurant, this place couldn't be less than amazing.
