Recently I have been doing quite a bit of cleaning and re-organizing at home. In the process I came across a craft UFO (unfinished object). I had originally started the project for my niece when she was born (she is 9 now). Seeing the blanket inspired a new baby gift I needed to make. I pulled out the artwork and re-formatted it into a more manageable pillow.
I traced the design using transfer paper in between the fabric and the art. The linen was fairly textured, so I went over the lines with a disappearing ink fabric pen to make the design easier to see.
I used a simple chain stitch for the majority of the design and short stitch for the facial features. Once I got back into the swing of it - it went really quickly. Check out our embroidery how-to for additional stitch tutorials and project inspiration.
