In the "American Made" section of the April issue of Living, you'll find a small piece on the fairly new company For the Makers. For the Makers is a subscription based company with a bit of a twist: sign up and receive a kit in the mail with all the supplies needed to make a certain craft: a necklace with oversize beads, a patterned zip pouch, a tassel key ring, and so much more.
Founders Janet Crowther and Katie Convington, both jewelry designers, had the genius idea to save money on paper and put all their how-to content online. I love the simple, straightforward format of their instructions. Once you receive your box in the mail, hop on their website to reference the instructions and get to work!
Packages come with all you need to get crafting: it saves you a trip to various supply stores and the expense of buying more materials than what you actually need.
One of my favorite projects on their site is this floral embroidery project.
