Around Town : Maker Faire 2013!

Posted by

If you are going to be in the New York City area this weekend his weekend, you won't want to miss World Maker Faire held at the New York Hall of Science.  Maker Faire is, according to their website, "the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement....Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned." It is a very kid-friendly event with lots of hands-on activities. My two sons,  who we'll be bringing again this year, had a great time attending the last two Maker Faires.

Don't fret if you can't make it. Click here to find out about Maker Faires and Mini Maker Faires happening all over the world!

Stay tuned for a round up post with some of the interesting sights from the Faire...
